Should I wear my sorrow lipstick? Should I wear my cocktail dress? We could go out for a whiskey or search for Jesus through the TV set. Should I wear my sorrow sneer? Should I wear my dark blue suit? We could go out and take some risks or search for evidence inside this room. Buried rivers run below. Their flows are hidden from the world above. You can't see them, you can't touch them, but you know they're still down there.

In July 2017 Davide was asked to create the music for a play that was to be performed at the Cònia school of representation techniques in Cesena, Italy. "Daphne, o del lamento dei torrenti interrati", written by Tommaso Granelli, was a take on the classic legend "Apollo and Daphne" by latin poet Ovid in "The Metamorphoses", comparing the fate of the nymph turned into a laurel tree to rivers that are forced underground for urban development.

The play was comprised of 9 scenes each one with its unique concept, theme, atmosphere and multimedia (music, projections, real-time videos and an industrial nebulizer spreading different scents over the audience).

Here's a revised and re-mastered version of the soundtrack that was performed live during the premiere.

It's quite unusual music for Blank: cinematic, diverse and experimental... mixing dark-ambient drones with lounge moods, saxophone solos, detuned pianos, sampled slide guitars, field recordings of an ancient aqueduct and industrial percussions, urban noises, analog synths and pieces of orchestra, in odd time signatures and tempo variations, "Xylomorphosis" is an hypnotic and fascinating journey for the open-minded souls.
